Oral Care: Problems and Cures

I wanna know the number of people who are above 30 with no dental problems. I am sure, the ratio would be three out of ten. It has become obvious when people turn 30 they visit the dentist more often than they do before 30.  Nobody is bothered to visit the dentist before they actually start seeing some issues either with Teeth or Gums and the moment slaps them in the face when their Dentist tells the severity of their dental condition. The journey begins....

Alright, how can keep my teeth healthy?
Keeping your teeth healthy and strong is very simple, all you need to do is follow these three rules -

1. Brush your teeth twice a day for at least 3 minutes:
Majority of us give less than a minute of time to brush our teeth which is not enough to clean the teeth completely. The teeth make our smile look beautiful, help us eat food to survive, they definitely deserve the care and 3 minutes of brushing before going to bed at night and after we leave the bed in morning.

2. Drink at least half liter milk every day:
Milk is the best source to keep your bones healthy - I am sure all of you will agree to this. Our teeth are placed inside the bones, and if our bones are not healthy - our teeth are not healthy. So get into a habit of drinking milk everyday.

3. Say NO to Sugar:
I see sugar as sweet poison and that's the reality of it. Sugar gives us NOTHING but takes a lot from our body. It is the biggest enemy of teeth and gums.

Here's my example: My dentist suggested me to go under the Periodontal Gum Surgery if I want to save my teeth. After that I did a lot of research on web and followed these three techniques for three months and visited the dentist again, then she said "What did you do? Your teeth and gums are completely healthy. Keep up the routine you are following."

Here's a Ted Talk on How Sugar Affects the Brain

Guys, it's simple and easy to keep our teeth healthy. Save money. Avoid the dental clinic's visits.

Enjoy a seamless iOS 8 on your iPhone 4S

So many people are irritated with Apple's new iOS 8 draining the battery and performance of their iPhone without looking at the root cause of the issue. When Apple stated that the new OS will work on iPhone 4S, it's obvious that they already tested the OS on the device and then announced its support.

Alright, what the root cause?

The new iOS 8 works seamlessly on iPhone 4S, but the apps you already have on your iPhone are the reason why your battery drains faster and the performance is spoiled.

What's the solution to it?

After you upgrade to iOS 8 take a backup of your important data (Not Apps) and Restore your iPhone as a new Phone with Factory Reset. Once you are done with Restoring your iPhone you will notice that the battery and performance is just as it was with iOS 7.1.2.

What about the apps I want to use?

When you are ready with your restored iPhone—start installing the applications one-by-one to spot the culprit.

I am using iOS 8 on my iPhone 4S and I have gone through the issues. I worked on all available options like downgrading to iOS 7.1.2, backing up all the apps and restoring the apps—eventually, the findings above have helped me enjoy the new iOS 8 without any issue.

Upgrade to iOS 8 on your iPhone 4S and enjoy the new features folks!

Think environment - say NO to newspapers

I get a feeling that people are becoming more responsible and careful when I see this line under every email I receive - "Please consider environment before you print this email." And a similar awareness programs are initiated in many organizations called Green Quarter or something related to saving the trees.

Generally, we think of trees/environment when we are using the paper to print, but what about the 20-50 pages big bulk we get every morning at our doorstep at a minimal cost? At this time no one thinks of saving trees/environment, mainly because they have paid some money for it, or because they haven't used that paper to print. Why does this happen? Why do we ignore the environment when we pick that newspaper to read *stale news?

Over 5,00,000 trees are killed each week for the Sunday newspaper just in USA.

The figure above refers to one day in one country, now multiply that in weeks, months and years. Can anyone think how many trees they might be cutting in a year?

I wonder how many people would be interested in reading yesterday's news in the era of Internet and Smart Phones where they have access to dedicated news websites and apps. There are many more channels available to stay updated with the news happening in your country and around the world. Then why do we want the newspaper? Perhaps, because it costs almost nothing money wise but the consequences on the environment are going to be severe.

The publications are getting huge money from Advertisement ― more than half of the newspaper is full of Ads, most of the time same Ads are repeated every day. And we risk our future to see those Ads on the valuable paper made out of trees. The trees that control weather, gives us Oxigen, protect us from natural calamities.

Is the newspaper really worth reading on paper? Can we take a little effort to use digital media to read news?

"Only after the last river has been poisoned. Only after the last fish has been caught. Only then will you find that money cannot be eaten.” ― Cree Indian Prophecy.

Change is possible, we can make it to create a better future for our children. Every step starts with you. I am saying NO to newspapers, are you?

Life of an Indian

The life as we see in India is not very fun-filled or exciting as compared to a life in other countries. Indians live a predictable lifepredictable because they still follow the old beliefs set by their ancestors. Beliefs such as:

Education (5-23)
It starts at age 5 and ends at age 22/23/24 (this varies depending on the courses they choose). An urge to succeed in every step of life begins as early as they are five when parents start expecting their kid to be the best in almost all subjects, and as an obedient kids they give their best to stand to their parents expectations. In this competition of being best they completely forget they have a childhood and it is meant to be enjoyed without any burdens/restrictions.

Job (24-as long as they can)
After carrying a heavy load of curriculum, the next stage begins without wasting a single minutewhich is called a job. The work culture literally kills their adulthood, here, productivity matters more than joy. And that's why the majority of employees express their anxiety by switching from one job to another. On top of work pressure, personal responsibilities push them work harder.

Marriage (Age 27-31)
And the only way to experience little joy of life is getting married which lasts just for 6 months or less, because as per the beliefs having kids is mandatory. Life can be beautiful with just one child but the belief plays a role againevery couple must have at least two kids, and if the first two kids are girl then keep trying until you have a boy. The kids arrive as the turning point in their lifesince fulfilling their needs becomes the first priority for parents which continues till the end of their life.

The End
They say - every person asks three questions to themselves on their deathbed:
1. Have I lived wisely?
2. Have I loved well?
3. Have I served greatly?

Having lived a traditional life how many Indians have 'Yes' as an answer to these questions? The number would be very small right?

The Change
Thankfully, with the proliferation in literacy and the exposure to other cultures, Indians are changing the way they followed the set beliefs. The definition of life has changed in past few years. People are happy with one kid and a few are daring to enjoy life without a kid.

Live a life you wish to, not the one others expect.
